This was one of the more difficult recipes I’ve come up with. The was a lot of trial and error and chaffle disasters. As a result, I spend more time than usual upfront describing the how I got to this recipe. If you want to jump right to the recipe, you can go to 3:45 – but you may find yourself wondering why I used certain ingredients.
Also, there’s a sort of sweet spot on the cooking time for these. You want just a bit of steam coming out of your waffle maker (around 4 minutes). If you start to lift the lid and the chaffle is sticking, give it a bit longer. You still want a small amount of steam (meaning the chaffles have some moisture left). If they seem to crisp when the come out of the Dash, pop them into a zip-loc bag so that the steam will soften them back up.
